Scripture-based Prayers for Carol

Scripture-based Prayers for Carol

The Garlow Family, 2007For the past 20 years, Carol has taught people to pray the Scripture. She is a strong advocate of Word-based intercession. In order to do that, one needs to know the Scripture. To help people do that, Carol has written out Scripture-based prayers. They were printed in the book God Still Heals, which she co-authored with Jim in 2005. Here are some of the prayers that she originally wrote for others. Now she is needing to have these very Scriptures prayed over her. For some reason, she seems to most need prayer between the hours of 7 pm and 10 pm. If you can, please pray for her during those hours. However, prayer is welcomed at any hour of the day. Having come through the surgical portion of this proceedure, the Garlow family is becoming increasingly aware of the journey ahead regarding chemotherapy. Your prayers are profoundly appreciated aand needed. As you pray the prayers, some are written for first person usage ("for my healing"). You can change them to apply to Carol. Thank you for your faithfulness in this.

For God's Healing Anointing

O, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His mercy endures forever. Whenever I cry out to the Lord in my trouble, He saves me from my distresses. All the Lord has to do is send His Word, and He heals me. He also delivers me from the destruction of my ways. Jesus, You modeled healing for Your disciples and even sent them out to heal. Your anointing to heal still has power to bring health and wholeness for my total being – spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Thank You, Father, for the gift of healing. I sense that the presence of the kingdom of God has come near to me and to those who pray for me. I give thanks to You, Lord, for Your goodness and for the wonderful works demonstrated in my life. Amen.

(Paraphrased from Psalm 107:1, 19-21; Luke 10:9)

For Strength During Pain and Suffering

O Lord, I have waited patiently to be brought out of this horrible pit. The pain and suffering of my (sin, trauma, or sickness) makes me feel as though I am stuck in miry clay. I know that God can set my feet upon a rock: He can establish my steps. Please do not withhold Your tender mercies from me. O Lord, let Your lovingkindness and Your truth preserve me continually. Rather than dwelling in the pain and devastation that consumes me, I desire Your sustenance and strength. I want to know Jesus more and to understand the power of His resurrection. For as I stand on His victory, I can have the experience of victory over my circumstances. There is also a fellowship of suffering that I share with Jesus. He understands my sufferings. Knowing Jesus, the Christ, gives me confidence that He who began a good work in me will complete it. So with the resilience of the Lord, I press on toward the goal, the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Amen.

(Paraphrased from Psalm 130)

For Refuge and Strength When Troubled

O Lord, my God, You are my refuge and my strength. Many times I am in trouble, and Your presence is always there helping me. You are so reliable that I do not have to fear, even though calamity is on the earth and in my home. “Though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea: though its waters roar and be troubled; though the mountains shake with the swelling… There is a river” (Ps. 46:3-4 KJV). Yes, Lord, that river is a symbol of Your peaceful, comforting presence that streams over me as I walk into the holy part of Your dwelling place. When I am in the midst of that place, I cannot be moved nor shaken. You, Lord, are with me. I desire to abide in the sanctuary of Your presence, and in that safe place, I will be still. It gives me the strong assurance that You are God and will bring victory to overcome the calamity of my problems. Thank You, my God. I worship You as my refuge and strength. Amen.

(Paraphrased from Psalm 46)

For Relief from Anxiety

Father in heaven, I rejoice in You. Again I rejoice, for I can come to you in prayer, presenting all my requests to You. I do not have to be anxious, because I can express both my deeply felt needs and my thanksgiving to You. I pray for Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard my heart and mind in the name of Jesus. I desire to fix my thoughts on You and to meditate on those things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. I know I can do all things through Jesus, who has the power to give me strength and sustain me through difficult times. That which I need will be supplied according to the riches of Your creation, and You will provide abundantly according to Your riches in glory, through Jesus Christ. Now to my God, and Father, be glory forever and ever. Amen.

(Paraphrased from Philippians 4:4,6-8, 13, 19-20)

For Strength to Fight Battles

O Lord, I will praise You with my whole heart for Your loving kindness and Your truth. When I cried out, You answered me and made me bold, with strength in my soul. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will be there to revive me. You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord, will accomplish the healing work that concerns me. Thank You for fulfilling all the promises you have made to me and all the plans You have for my life. Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever. Amen.

(Paraphrased from Psalm 138:1-3:7-8)

For Anointing Upon Those Who Minister Healing

Father in heaven, You have called and gifted me to minister salvation and emotional and physical healing to the people You place in my path. I humbly desire that “the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord [be] on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” I pray for strength and wisdom to be Your servant. Thank You, Father, for the opportunity to take part in Your kingdom’s work. Blessed be Your name. Amen.

A Healing Prayer for Carol written by Lisa "V" Bayungan:
Received 4th of July, 10:30 am

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your living word. You said that your word is life to those who find it and medicine to all their flesh. Today, by our confession we apply your word to Carol's body by giving voice to it.

You said in Psalm 139:14 that Carol is fearfully made and that your works are marvelous. We declare that Carol was created by you and she is a marvelous creation.

We speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 that they must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in heaven, on earth and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus' name.

We speak to Carol's body today and declare that she has authority over it. We command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims that Jesus bore Carol's sicknesses and took Carol's infirmities.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in Carol and makes alive her mortal body.

We speak to Carol's immune system and command it to line up with the Word of God. Carol's immune system will destroy sickness and disease in Carol's body and perform its job; for this is what God created it to do.

We thank you Father that every cell in Carol's body responds to Your Word. Your Word permeates Carol's body from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. We confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in Carol.

Psalm 103:3 declares that You Father, forgave all Carol's iniquities and healed all of Carol's diseases. Father, that is Your confession and we make it our confession also. We don't judge by the sight of our eyes, we judge by Your living Word. It is your Word that lives in Carol and brings health and healing to every part of Carol's body.

Healing is Carol's because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved Carol that he gave His Son to die on the cross so that Carol could experience life on God's terms. His abundant life manifesting in Carol, making Carol whole--body, soul and spirit. Amen.
